Look for an updated version of this schedule early next week after we get through Iron Cross!
The next two weekends bring a classic and a brand new event to the mid-Atlantic region.
On Sept 29 we celebrate the 11th edition of Iron Cross, North America’s Original Ultracross Event. In addition to our long time partners NoTubes who make the Iron Cross wheelset (yea, we’re close) which is perfect this sort of thing we’re really excited to bring in new partner Foundry Cycles who not only produce some excellent bikes, but have an attitude in perfect parallel with our own. Iron Cross is launching with a new look to a course featuring many classic elements like the Lippencote Trail descent, Wigwam “Run Up” (you’ll understand the quotes once you do it) and the climb up Hogshead Road. Info at IronCrossRace.com and follow on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Iron-Cross-Race/147667445247692
On Oct 4-6 in Millheim, PA with our partners Freeze Thaw Cycles from State College and Elk Creek Cafe and Aleworks we’re introducing the first ever Great Gravel Gathering. This is three days of fun and incredible riding. No racing this weekend, just an opportunity to gather with friends and sample hundreds of miles of deep woods riding enjoyment on the multitude of roads that criss cross the Bald Eagle and Rothrock State Forests. We’ll have some group rides going and even an overnighter, maps for those who want to explore on their own, women’s rides, casual rides, long rides, short rides, demos available from FTC, movies, bands, and delicious beer flowing all weekend long. More info on the GGG is found right here on HighSpeedCycling on the drop down menus above. More info will be posted as we get closer to the weekend. Camping and RV spots are available at base camp at the Millheim, PA community pool where we’ll also have showers awaiting (cold ones, but at least you can wash off the dust!) just a few hundred yards of Elk Creek Cafe and the town of Millheim. More than $1000.00 worth of sweet gear will be divied up through the weekend from our partners Salsa Cycles, Q-Outdoor, Endura Clothing, Vargo Outdoors and more! Registration for the weekend is on BikeReg right here: https://www.bikereg.com/Net/unpaved and of course you can find a facepage on the event too: https://www.facebook.com/events/661418880544587/
